Building the Glen-L HOT ROD - Transferring chine notches
Here's how to quickly and accurately transfer frame chine notches from one side of the boat to the opposite side.
Click to enlarge. Using the bottom gusset template (Frame #4 shown), cut and trim two duplicates.

Click to enlarge. Clamp the template on front face of frame to be copied.

Click to enlarge. Mark the notch layout with a pencil.

Click to enlarge. Cut as indicated.

Click to enlarge. Label the template to indicate its position eg. 'Chine #4 Front'. Clamp the template on the opposite side of the frame and mark the notch profile.

Click to enlarge. Follow the same procedure as outlined previously for the back frame face. Make sure to label the rear template so you don't get the front and back faces mixed up !!

Click to enlarge. Project the front and rear face marks to the top and side of the frame. Verify the marks by measuring both sides from the top of the frame to the horizontal line and from the frame centerline to the vertical line.
