Ready to leave the cottage driveway for the first test run.

I was surprised by how 'bow down' she rides at idle. I guess
that is a function of the shaft angle.
|
It looks like it works....
|
This is fun... I must remember to pull in my fenders!

There is nothing like the 'Sheeting' bow spray of a cold-moulded

I took my daughter for a ride, and she took the 'mandatory' aft view...
|
... and forward view.

The test run was done without seats. I soon forgot that I was sitting six inches
in front of the uncovered flywheel and belts.

We made it to the Glen-L Gathering in Lake Guntersville, Alabama to meet other
Glen-L boat builders. With a license plate that reads SKI-DOO, that
has to be Mr. Hot Rod's tow rig behind the boat !

This is the first time she was in the water with all of the soles and seats in, and with the
flags up. (FYI... that is the Province of Ontario flat at the stern, and a "Courtesy" US flag at the
bow, because that is where we are visiting for this shot).

The name Gemma is coined from the initials of my two
daughters... 'Genevieve Evelyn Mary',
and 'Madeline Ann'. I ordered the faux gold leaf lettering off
the internet from signspecialist.com. They were very reasonable and very service-oriented. (praise where it
is due). I am very pleased with the look. When I have a nothing better to do with a few hundred dollars,
maybe I'll look for a chrome horn ring for that steering wheel.

That's it for now. I hope you've enjoyed viewing the Monaco Project. We'll post more photos and
boat videos soon. If you have have any questions or comments, feel free to send me an
email.
